Plans to reconstruct the Central Avenue intersection with Parkwood Drive and Lincoln Avenue to improve traffic flow was criticized by about 65 residents of the area Thursday during a public hearing.

The state Department of Transportation has proposed relocating Parkwood Drive at Central Avenue so it directly lines up with Lincoln Avenue. The change would allow the elimination of a second traffic light and increase the green phase of the signal cycle for eastbound and westbound traffic.
